New walking tour launched at V&A

The V&A Waterfront has launched a walking tour that gives visitors an opportunity to explore the area’s cultural and historic significance.

Remember that our restaurants are open 7 days a week and are fully family-friendly.  Whether it is meat, fish, Sushi or Italian flavours you are looking for, Greek Fisherman, City Grill and Meloncino are waiting to serve you.

The 45-minute tour leaves daily at 11h00 from the Chavonnes Battery Museum at the Clock Tower Precinct and is conducted by an experienced and registered tour guide.

Stops include Robinson Dock, the SAS Somerset, the Pump House, Breakwater Prison, Portswood Ridge, Time Ball Tower, Union Castle Building, and Victoria Basin.

“The tour is designed to engage both young and old and will definitely add a fresh dimension to a visit to the V&A Waterfront,” says Annemie Liebenberg, Tourism and Customer Services Manager at the V&A Waterfront.

Advanced bookings are essential to secure the availability of the tour guide, and should be made with the V&A Waterfront Information Centre or at the in-mall Kiosk. A deposit of 11% is payable upfront to confirm the booking, with the remainder payable at Chavonnes Battery Museum on commencement of the tour.

A minimum of four and a maximum of 10 people are allowed per tour. Tickets are R50 for adults, R20 for children between the ages of 10 and 18, and R10 per pupil who forms part of a school group. Children under the age of 10 can join the tour free.
