Wine Pairing Evening at Meloncino with Blaauwklippen


ANTIPASTI (Starters)

Focaccia Bianca con Rosmarino
Plain base pizza bread with olive oil, rosemary and salt.

Carpaccio di Carne con Sedano e Parmiggiano
Beef carpaccio served Italian style with sliced celery and Parmesan cheese dressed with extra virgin olive oil, lemon and black pepper.
Paired Wine: Blaauwklippen Cultivar Selection Shiraz

SECONDI (Main Course)

Fagottini di Pollo
Chicken paillard filled with asparagus and smoked Italian cheese, wrapped in prosciutto and cooked in a cream, brandy and mushroom sauce, served with Italian oven-roasted potatoes.
Paired Wine: Blaauwklippen White Zinfandel

Pesce fresco di Giornata alla Griglia
Fresh line fish of the day, cooked on a open-fire grill, with a lemon butter sauce, served on a bed of pommes puree.

Tagliata di Manzo all’ Aceto Balsamico Invecchiato 10 Anni
Slices of grilled sirloin steak topped with salt, black pepper and a 10 year old Balsamic vinegar, served with Italian roast potatoes. (Prepared medium-rare and served luke-warm)

DOLCE (Dessert)

Sorbetto al meloncino
Meloncino’s finest home-made sorbet made the authentic Italian way.
Torta Strepitosa ai 3 Cioccolati
Baked cream pasticciera and white chocolate on a milk chocolate biscuit base topped with seasonal wild berries and a dark citrus chocolate sauce.
